You can’t have a meal in Egypt without also having tea. Produced for Ehky Ya Masr, this promo offers a glimpse into one of the simplest ways Egyptians connect: over a cup of shay. The promo received the 2020 Best of Competition Award at the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Awards.

Produced for Ehky Ya Masr, this audio piece explores a staple of Egyptian food culture: shay (tea). Food culture in Egypt is immersed in both food and drink, and tea has a place at the table, after meals, and throughout the day. The story looks at the rituals and social moments that have made a simple cup of tea part of everyday Egyptian life.
Award-Winning Ramadan Across Social Classes in Cairo | Episode
The economic hardships Cairenes face every day can sometimes be buried in Ramadan. Produced for Ehky Ya Masr, this audio documentary explores how the holy month is experienced across Cairo’s different social classes, from opportunities to socialise and gather to, of course, eat. The piece received the 2019 Best of Competition Award in the Radio Documentary Category and the 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Creative Award at the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Awards.

Produced for the Ehky Ya Masr podcast, this Arabic audio promo introduces a feature on Ramadan and the Hijri calendar. The piece is part of my earlier audio storytelling work, where I explored how sound can bring cultural stories and topics to life.

The New Generation Phase
Created as a college project for my Audio Production class at the American University in Cairo (AUC), this audio documentary explores the experiences of three university women who chose to stop wearing the veil. Through their personal stories, the piece looks at their different backgrounds, the reasons behind their decisions, and the social consequences they faced within Egyptian society.
